Educational Tours
Accepting bookings for the last week of April through
the second weekend in November 2026!
We offer several options for school field trips as well as homeschool groups and special needs adults. Our summer programs are suitable for camp, scout and daycare visits or can be adapted for birthday parties.
The farm has a pondside picnic site. The pavilion at the pond site is available for rent for special gatherings ~ weekends and evenings. To book a tour, please review the options and pricing below and complete the form on the right.
Enhancement programs: If you want to spend more time on the farm, you can add a scavenger hunt for $1.50 per person (30 minutes additional time) anytime of the year. Another option is painting a birdhouse gourd for $6.00 per person when scheduling another tour late June to mid August.

Farm Animal Tour $9.00 per child or chaperone (Last Week April through First Week of November)
With this program, everyone will feed the friendly farm animals and take spend time to learn about each one. Then you will take a hayride over the fields & through the Cattail Creek followed by potting your own plant to take home (April - August ONLY) or harvesting your own pumpkin and popcorn to take home (September -November ONLY). Teachers are free in a ratio of 1 teacher or aide per 15 students.
Spring is Growing! $9.50 per child or chaperone (Last Week of April through May)
Students learn the parts of a seed, how it grows roots and leaves, and how the parts of a plant help it function. We discuss germination, stems and flowers. All educational material is adapted to suit various grade levels. Take a tour of our greenhouse and see plants at various stages of growth. All children learn the basics of caring for plants and pot their own plant to take home. Students will also take a hayride through Cattail Creek and feed our farm animals. Teachers are free in a ratio of 1 teacher or aide per 15 students.
Wonderful World of Worms! $9.50 per child or chaperone (Last Week of April through mid June)
This is a great introduction for children to learn how they can make a difference in the environment by learning about composting. With this program the children will learn about earthworms and their role in composting. Children will see the entire cycle, from “yucky” food scraps or other organic waste, to the final product. This hands on experience includes dirt, worms and other organic matter. All children will take home a plant they pot using the special worm compost as well as take a hayride through the Cattail Creek and feed the farm animals. Teachers are free in a ratio of 1 teacher or aide per 15 students.
Birdhouse Gourds! $12.00 per child or chaperone (Late June to mid August)
Unleash your inner artist and create a birdhouse, using gourds grown here on the farm. We have clean dried gourds ready for you to paint! We provide the supplies and paint. Fun for all ages. Tour includes a scenic hayride and time to feed our barnyard animals.
Ponds, Puddles and Creeks! $10.00 per child or chaperone (mid May through August)
Students will take a hayride to Cattail Creek then use nets to go into the creek, catching a variety of the creatures that live in and around the creek. We also discuss “the web of life” that exists within the creek, the habitat and the life cycle of amphibians and stream insects. The guide takes time to identify the creatures the children caught and where they live in the food chain. This tour can be presented at many levels, from environmental introduction to sampling for older children. All participants should wear water shoes or old tennis shoes! Students will also feed our farm animals and pot their own plant to take home. Teachers are free in a ratio of 1 teacher or aide per 15 students.
Day in the Life of a Farmer $9.50 per child or chaperone (October through First Week of November)
Students will learn about pollination, the importance of bees, and see an observation beehive as well as learn about the different types of crops that are grown on the farm. After that, everyone will feed the friendly farm animals, take a hayride and finish by harvesting your own pumpkin and popcorn to take home. Teachers are free in a ratio of 1 teacher or aide per 15 students.
Pilgrim History $11.00 per child or chaperone (First 5 Weekdays of November with rain dates available the second week of November)
Kids will be able to experience life as a Pilgrim by rotating through stations. They will learn about the home life, chores and the relationships with the Native Americans. The tour also includes feeding the farm animals, taking a hayride and harvesting your own pumpkin and popcorn to take home. Teachers are free in a ratio of 1 teacher or aide per 15 students.
Once you have confirmed your date, we expect you will be arriving as planned. If you are actively in communication due to weather or other extenuating circumstances, and cannot attend your group will not be charged.
Payment for chaperones MUST be collected by the school or organization before the trip begins. Payment for chaperones may be made separately from the students but MUST be collected by the school or organization and submitted to the farm.
Final estimated numbers for classes MUST be submitted at least a week before the trip and a Quickbooks invoice will be sent to the email provided. We will still be honoring Title 1 and HeadStart pricing. Once the final count of students has been made, the invoice may be edited, if needed and a receipt will be sent via Quickbooks when payment is made on the tour date by check or when the final payment has been made. All forms of payment are accepted: check on the day of the tour, payment via intuit billing, headstart vouchers or cash. Credit cards may incurr at service fee. If you have a Head Start Voucher, please have the “Admission Authorization Form” completed prior to your arrival.
If you select “Free Admission” as your teacher option, teachers and special needs 1:1 Aides will be free. A maximum of 1 free teacher will be admitted for every 15 students. In order to receive free admission a count of teachers and aids MUST be noted to us before arrival.
If you are part of a Homeschool Co-Op or Group the individual reserving the tour will count as a “teacher” and can receive free admission or a teacher basket, all other parents must pay admission.
There will continue to be no fee to cancel for weather or other issues as long as you have cancelled WITHIN 24 HOURS! We appreciate this so our staffing can accurately prepare for the tour day to make your experience the best it can be! See you down on the farm!!
