Educational tours for schools, scouts and campgroups are being scheduled.  For families, enjoy our open house days.  Bring the children out for outdoor education.  Reservations are required.  Contact us!

Join us for any of our upcoming Open House events:

Friday, May 18th 12 – 1:30 Ponds, Puddles, & Creeks Your guide will bring you by hayride to the Cattail Creek. Make sure you wear old tennis shoes or water shoes as we go into the creek to catch a variety of the critters that live there. After catching them, we take time to identify what we have found, and learn about their habitats and life cycles. After releasing the critters we head back to the barnyard to feed the farm animals! $7.00/child Register on or before May 17th.

This year we also are offering a “Healthy Eats” option. For an additional $2.00/person everyone will receive a bag of healthy vegetables to take home with them. They are picked fresh from our high tunnel the morning of your program.

All participants will receive a 20% discount on any greenhouse purchases made this day!

Thursday, June 7th     10-11:30 Wonderful World of Worms Your guide will teach the children about worms and their role in composting. What is composting, how to compost, parts of a worm, are some of the material that is talked about. Bring a baggie of food scraps as we will go through all the steps of how to make a compost pile! Everyone will pot a plant to take home! A hayride and feeding the farm animals is also included! $7.00/child Register on or before June 6th.

What We Do On The Farm

Sharp's at Waterford Farm is a 530 acre working farm located in the western part of Howard County, family-owned and operated since 1903. We offer activities for children of all ages and adult guests.

From mid April through November, we run a variety of educational programs and tours ideal for individuals and groups. We also have a 10+ acre educational corn maze available every fall.

In the Spring, our greenhouses are filled with specialty and heirloom herbs, vegetables, and flowers.

Fall ushers in an exciting season. There are  hayrides to our acres of pumpkins. Our country store is overflowing with fall decorations grown on the farm, jams, jellies, local honey, apples, cider, crafts, mums, fall vegetables and so much more. Visit the farm animals, take a nature walk, see the observation bee hives or make a scarecrow. There's plenty to do down on the farm.

We offer birthday parties, group parties, private hayrides and campfires eight months of the year!

We have been hosting visitors for 30 years and we hope you will visit with us this year. No admission is charged to enter the farm!
